Thrill Seeker, Adventure Lover, and Determined
Miss New York 2014
In pursuit of a career in sports broadcasting, I traded the beach for a skyline. As a cum laude graduate from Florida State University with a double major in Communication Media Studies and Sports Management with a minor in Hospitality Management living in Little Italy, NY with 6 people, I can truly say life has been an adventure and there is no other place I would want to call home.
As Miss New York 2014, I have devoted myself to getting involved, with the goal of making positive and sustainable change to my New York community. I find that my passion is empowering others to be mentors. I also focus on being an active representative and volunteer for the Ronald McDonald House Charities and the Children’s Miracle Network. My philanthropic passion stems from my personal platform, "Amaze Me," which answers the “who, what, when, why and how” of building mentoring relationships. I have been able to partner with iMentor NYC and The Mentoring Partnership of New York to strive to close the 15 million student mentoring gap. I encourage you to visit YouAmazeMe.org and make a commitment to being an active mentor!
As an avid sports enthusiast and an outgoing individual, I look foward to starting my career at Bleacher Report. It is anamazing opportunity to continue and grow within the Sports Industry. I completed an intership within the New York Mets, two internships in local television station sport departments, and was also a reporter for Seminole Sports Magazine and ESPNU Campus Connection. With my internships at WSVN FOX 7 in Miami, FL and WTXL ABC 27 in Tallahassee, FL, I was able to develop the necessary skill set to execute and deliver under pressure. These experiences gave me the opportunity to cover the Miami Heat, Miami Dolphins, Miami Marlins, University of Miami, Florida State University, and various high school athletic programs.
During my time as an undergraduate student, I was able to take advantage of the endless opportunities available and to establish myself as a leader on campus as Senior Class Council President, an Emerging Leader Peer Leader, holder of two executive board positions for Alpha Delta Pi Sorority, and as a trustee on the Student Foundation. Also having been an active member in several honor societies, I feel I made the most of my time at an excellent university. I now continue my Florida State pride by serving as board member on the NYC Seminole Club. Go NOLES!
Baton twirling has been a passion of mine since I was two years old, and eventually became another way for me to showcase my school pride as Florida State University's Feature Twirler. Over the years, twirling has fostered my work ethic and has opened many doors, allowing me to travel and compete all over the world, and ultimately win state, regional and national titles. I look forward to being able to continue to perform as well as teach multiple students in the State of New York.
